It doesn't have each and every detail, but I think I pretty much summed it all up nicely.
(The pink text is what I'm saying!)
The first line, just "Bratz", featured 4 hip, stylish, average American teenagers, all with different backgrounds.
The first, Cloe, known as "Angel" for her heavenly style, was a westerner. Y'know, Mom & Dad, born in the states, blonde hair, blue eyes & a fair complection. The second, Yasmin, or nicknamed "Pretty Princess" because she rules, originates from Spain/Mexico. She was obviously born, or has grown up in America because of her accent (Bratz DVD movies, TV series). I't most likely that her parents, or grandparents are from there. The third, Sasha, who's nickname is "Bunny Boo" because she loves the hip-hop thang, is African American. Although, she has an American accent, due to growing up, or being born in America, her family once lived in Africa. Any American citizen would know why the African's were brought to America long ago. Being Australian, I do not know much about the American history, but I do believe there is a holiday for this day in America. The fourth, Jade, who is known as "Kool Kat" because she's cool and into cats, has Japanese blood in her veins. Like the other girls, she was born or has grown up in America, but her family did originate from Japan. That probably explains for her funky, quirky and unique fashion sense, huh?
Meanwhile, the near 40-year-old fashion doll that has been around since 1959 isn't too happy with her sales. From 2001 - 2005 it was really hard for our blonde, all American girl. So many Bratz dolls being bought, not enough Barbie dolls (Oh well, maybe it's time to step it up, huh, Barbie?)... Well, Barbie didn't step in up, but Mattel (Toy company that created Barbie) did...or well, tried to.
Luckily for the Bratz, MyScene dolls weren't as big a hit as Mattel thought (More likely hoped!) they would be. Of course they had the odd purchse, but they never outselled the girls with a passion for fashion!
as Genie Magic, Sweet Dreams Pyjama Party & Princess. MGA has sold $3.3 billion in Bratz products since the dolls debuted, reaping nearly $300 million in profits, the AP reported. Barbie profits sank by nearly $400 million in that
period. So obviously Barbie isn't doin' too well - not as good as the Bratz' sales...and certainly NOT GOOD ENOUGH
for Mattel! Barbie...or should I say, Mattel, has had enough of those Bratz! The Bratz have had their slory, it's now
time to leave, this means WAR!!
On 23 Apr 2007 Mattel claimed that Bratz creator Carter Bryant came up with the idea for the dolls while he was working at Mattel. Mattel also says MGA secretly conspired with Bryant to steal the idea. True or not true, this was bad news for the Bratz, and MGA...
Over lot's of battlin' in court, the Bratz, and MGA are heart broken when Mattel wins the case and MGA has to stop making the Bratz dolls. This now means that Barbie get's to shine once again.
But no - Maybe I spoke too soon! On 8 Nov 2009 MGA released the Bratz' replacement: Moxie Girlz. The dolls motto "Be True. Be You!", really tells you, the dolls are all about being yourself and it's okay to be different, y'know, standing out. A bit like the Bratz, except these aren't fashion dolls.
The Moxie Girlz looked quite a lot like the Bratz, but alot different too. They had big heads, smaller eyes, and smaller lips, but still had that bit of Bratzie-ness to them.
Fortunately, to MGA's surprise, these dolls were actually quite popular. Not as popular as Bratz ever were, but they were doing alright. They were accepted by the soccer Moms at least...
Not that much later, a new doll hit the stores. This doll was quite unique, with never seen before features like it's glass eyes, highly detailed fashions, removable wigs (Haha, a bald doll!) and exatly 14 points of articulation. Yep, you guessed it...it's the Liv doll! These dolls were quite popular too! Look's like Spin Master's (The toy company that created Liv) on the right track!
So now Barbie has some more competition, not what she expected, huh?
MGA are happy with Moxie Girlz, but they miss the girls with a passion for fashion! MGA decided to start another case to get their no.1 fashion dolls back!!
So after round 2 in court, MGA and Mattel finally came to an agreement (Yeeesss!!) and basically made up (I'm not going to go into all the details - too much to type up, sorry...I'm not a copy and paste sorta person!)!
The dolls have a totally new look, with different facial features, bodies and preppier clothing.
The 4 original characters Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha & Jade are still around - don't worry Bratz fans! There are also new characters in other collections, such as 10th Anniversary (This collection was released just for the Bratz' 10th anniversary, which was on October 10 2010.), X-Press It! and the Twiins 2nd Edition (From 2010).
Released by MGA, Moxie Teenz, an older, stylisher version of Moxie Girlz. The dolls are 14 inches tall and have articulated joints.
Moxie Teenz have the same motto as Moxie Girlz, yet they're all about following your dreams and believing in yourself.
So far, there has noly been 1 line, just the basic "Moxie Teenz", but there are most supposed to be coming out in 2011.
Monster High, is becoming quite big with a TV series, novel series, music video, Halloween costumes, plushie toys and the dolls of course.
The first Monster High collection, just "Monster High", included 6 dolls, (Clawdeen Wolf, Lagoona Blue, Cleo De Nile, Deuce Gorgon, Frankie Stein & Draculaura), but then 2 others from the TV series were released into the collection (Ghoulia Yelps & Holt Hyde). There has been other collections since then, such as Dawn Of The Dance
Although, the new Bratz aren't selling as well as the older Bratz. This is because alot of people don't like their new look, clothes, hair and the quality of the doll in general.
There have also been other problems, such as make-up poorly applied - chips and missing parts.
The 2011 Bratz collections are apparently alot better and the Bratz are predicted to have their old "Funky style" and "Edgy clothing" back in the future. Probably in the next couple of years. There are still lot's of people that like the new look and rather it to the old Bratz, but then there are others that want the new ones, but want the old ones, too.
In conclusion, the girls with a passion for fashion are back and they're here to stay! So get your bratitude on and celebrate their BIG comeback!!
